Man arrested for installing peeper camera in convenience store toilet
Police in Fukuoka own arrested a 28-year-old male on suspicion of committing an obscene act in violation of public nuisance laws after he installed a tiny spy camera in the toilet of a convenience store last October.
According to police, Yuichiro Nakao, who is a company employee, has admitted to the charge. He was quoted as saying he planted the camera because he got a thrill out of seeing women naked and their underwear.
Police said that Nakao planted the camera with a 5-millimeter lens in the toilet of the convenience store in Fukuoka’s Nishi Ward last Oct 24. The camera, which was attached to a battery by a skinny cord, was connected wirelessly to Nakao’s smartphone. He told police he later uploaded the footage to a website where he sold it.
A convenience store employee found the camera while cleaning the toilet.
Police said they found nine other spy cameras when they searched Nakao’s residence and are questioning him on where else he has planted the cameras in the past.

POLICE have admitted they acted wrongly during an operation to trap gay men having sex in public toilets.
Officers place up spy cameras in a convenience in Brand-new Brighton last year after attendants reported concerns about the behaviour of some men using it.
After a series of high-visibility patrols, police hid the two tiny cameras in the urinal area of the toilets, one at chief and one at waist height.
Cameras were also put up outside the Harrison Drive block to discover car registration numbers.
Police caught 126 offences taking place in just three months and 40 men were arrested, causing outrage among the gay community because many of those arrested were not openly homosexual.
A Liverpool-based Merseyside police sergeant caught during the 12-day blitz was cautioned and fined 13 days’ pay.
The force was accused of using strong-arm tactics and double standards over the way it dealt with straight and gay men.
