A must-see tip from Tom and Marlies was Spreewald, an area southeast of Berlin. The area is on the flood plain of the Spree River with a mix of canals, farmland and lush space/forests. It is a bit of a playground, holiday destination for Berliners and has an extensive network of cycling/walking paths or you can kayak the canal system. We opted for a leisurely morning walk along the canals to take in the area.
