Meet Your Coach

At the age of 25, I was engaged to a woman to be married. To the outside world, I looked joyful, only much of it was a facade.

During the pressure-cooker of the engagement, I realized that I was living a double life, and I only 6 months before the wedding, I came out of the closet. At that time, I figured my life would be easy, but I rapidly realized that my life didn't get easier, but rather more authentic. The happiness was more authentic, but so was the pain.

After coming out, I felt incredibly lonely, and my self-esteem was lower than ever. I kept trying to fit into the mold of what other people said a same-sex attracted man should be favor, only to be left feeling even worse about myself.

After realizing that I still wasn't happy, I began to put in the work to adjust that. I mastered tools to figure out who I am, not who others wanted me to be. I began to build my confidence, and in doing so, I started to build a community of others who saw and supported me, not in spite of

As a gay life coach, I bring my one-of-a-kind understanding of gay society and its challenges to my coaching at Wellismo.

First I want to recognize that it’s unfair to generalize the struggles of all gay men, as everyone’s experiences and challenges are complex and can be influenced by a range of factors such as culture, race, ethnicity, socio-economic status, age, and more.

That being said, I believe that there are challenges that are universal to the lgbtq+ man’s experience such as dealing with discrimination, prejudice, and stigmatization.

Additionally, many lgbtq+ men face social, legal, and cultural barriers to living authentically and openly, which can lead to feelings of isolation, loneliness, and fear. Over hour, it erodes self-esteem. As a result, many queer men face higher rates of mental health issues, such as depression and anxiety. This can be exacerbated by the lack of access to appropriate healthcare and support services, especially in areas where being LGBTQ+ is not widely accepted.
