The Walking Dead: We Finally Know For Sure Whether Or Not Daryl Is Gay
The question of whether or not The Walking Dead's Daryl is male lover has been a topic of interest among some fans, due in massive part to comments made by series creator Robert Kirkman earlier this year regarding the character's sexuality, which has remained unaddressed on the series. Tonight, Kirkman went on write down to clear the situation up. In his identical words, "Daryl Dixon is actually straight."
(No Walking Dead mid-season finale spoilers ahead.)
Robert Kirkman was among the guests to appear on tonight's episode of the Walking Dead post-episode discuss show Talking Dead. A fan asked when Daryl was going to fetch some action on the show -- and not killin' zombies action, but you know, action move -- and Kirkman addressed the "hubbub" he caused when he talked about Daryl's sexuality a while back.
You may prefer"We play Daryl Dixon as being somewhat asexual on the show. I think that he is a very introverted personality. I think that's some of his appeal. I do have to explain something up though. In The Walking Dead letters column in the vintage comic book that I do, there was a question that made me mention that
I have been a fan of zombies for years now, something that started because of the Resident Evil game series. This is why I started to watch AMC’s The Walking Dead, a TV show based on the comics of the matching name. One of the main characters in the show is fan-favorite Daryl Dixon (Norman Reedus), and recently Robert Kirkman made a statement about the crossbow wielding survivor’s sexuality.
The question about Daryl’s sexuality was asked about in a fan letter for The Walking Dead #130. In the letter, the fan drew parallels between Daryl and Jesus. For those of you who don’t know, Jesus is quite a tough nature in the comic guide series and he’s also gay. He appeared in issue 91 and his sexuality was revealed in issue 122. The readers were quite surprised because of the reveal, and I appreciate that Kirkman decided to do it this way. It really tells readers not to take everything at deal with value and immediately consider a character is direct because their sexuality isn’t stated when they create their first appearance. It’s similar to what Strike the Floor did nearby the end of Season 2.
Just like Jesus, actual name Paul Monroe, Daryl’s sexuality hasn’t been mentioned in the TV series eit
'Walking Dead' Creator Clarifies Daryl Dixon's Sexuality
— -- The question of Daryl Dixon's sexuality on "The Walking Dead" has been a hotbed topic for quite a while.
Well, "Walking Dead" creator Robert Kirkman felt the need to distinct things up on his show "The Talking Dead" after Monday night's midseason finale.
“I can make it official, Daryl Dixon is actually straight," Kirkman said.
He added that Daryl Dixon, played by Norman Reedus, is "somewhat asexual on the show" and that his introverted persona is probably his appeal to viewers.
Kirkman wanted to dispel up a letters column where the possibility of Daryl being gay was presented. But Kirkman and network AMC also wanted to emphasize they would have been fine with Dixon’s being gay, but that it's not the case.
Kirkman did add that "a very prominent queer character" would be introduced in the next half of the season.
In October, "Walking Dead" executive producer Greg Nicotero floated a completely different theory than Daryl’s being gay.
“I assess he’s a virgin in my opinion,” Nicotero told "Nightline." “I don’t reflect Daryl

One of The Walking Dead's biggest mysteries is one that hasn't actually ever been addressed on the AMC hit series: is Daryl Dixon (Norman Reedus) gay? "I do have to obvious something up, though: in the letter column of the comic book that I do, I mentioned that there was a possibility early on about making Daryl Dixon's nature gay."
Of course, this direct to a massive online reaction. One Kirkman was quite aware of.
