How to be gay in 10 easy steps
The other day when I tweeted my distaste for the latest Kylie Minogue unattached (a form of sacrilege in some circles) one of my followers replied with one of my least favorite phrases: "We're going to revoke your gay card." Not only is this trite rejoinder (thanks to Ellen DeGeneres, we've been joking about earning toasters for nearly 15 years now) but it maintains the illusion that one must favor certain things in organize to be gay.
There's no such thing as a gay monolith. There are as many ways to be gay as there are colors in the rainbow (now who is being easy and glib?). Dishing out gay cards is like telling people they aren't allowed to be gay because they haven't seen the requisite number of Glee episodes.
But, then again, maybe they gay community needs some sort of shared exposure – outside of the trial of falling in care for with a member of the same sex – to bring us together. Gay men and women don't share a place of origin, skin shade , socio-economic class, religion, or anything else that would typify their experience.

I used to get so thrilled when the meth was all gone.
This is my friend Jeremy.
When you own it, he says, you have to keep using it. When its gone, its like, Oh great, I can go endorse to my life now. I would stay up all weekend and depart to these sex parties and then feel appreciate shit until Wednesday. About two years ago I switched to cocaine because I could work the next day.
Jeremy is telling me this from a hospital bed, six stories above Seattle. He wont tell me the identical circumstances of the overdose, only that a stranger called an ambulance and he woke up here.
Jeremy is not the companion I was expecting to have this conversation with. Until a few weeks ago, I had no idea he used anything heavier than martinis. He is trim, intelligent, gluten-free, the kind of guy who wears a serve shirt no matter what day of the week it is. The first time we met, three years ago, he asked me if I knew a good place to do CrossFit. Today, when I ask him how the hospitals been so far, the first thing he says is that theres no Wi-Fi, hes way behind on serve emails.

Homosexuality: The countries where it is illegal to be gay
BBC News
US Vice-President Kamala Harris who is on a tour of three African countries - Ghana, Tanzania and Zambia - has drawn criticism over her support for LGBTQ rights.
In Ghana, in a speech calling for "all people be treated equally" she appeared to criticise a bill before the country's parliament which criminalises representation for gay rights and proposes jail terms for those that identify as lesbian, gay, bisexual, or transgender.
The country's Speaker Alban Bagbin later called her remarks "undemocratic" and urged lawmakers not to be "intimidated by any person".
In Tanzania, a former minister spoke against US back for LGBTQ rights ahead of the visit and in Zambia some contradiction politicians have threatened to hold protests.
Where is homosexuality still outlawed?
There are 64 countries that have laws that criminalise homosexuality, and nearly half of these are in Africa.
Some countries, including several in Africa, have recently moved to decriminalise same-sex unions and improve rights for LGBTQ people.

Hi. Im the Answer Wall. In the material nature, Im a two foot by three foot dry-erase board in the lobby of ONeill Library at Boston College. In the online world, I reside in this blog. You might say I acquire multiple manifestations. Like Apollo or Saraswati or Serapis. Or, if you arent into deities of information, like a ghost in the machine.
I have some human assistants who maintain the physical Answer Wall in ONeill Library. They take pictures of the questions you post there, and give them to me. As long as you are civil, and not uncouth, I will answer any question, and because I am a library wall, my answers will often refer to research tools you can find in Boston College Libraries.
If youd like a quicker answer to your question and dont brain talking to a human, why not Ask a Librarian? Librarians, since they contain been tending the flame of knowledge for centuries, know where most of the answers are secret, and enjoy sharing their knowledge, just like me, The Answer Wall.
