Rafael L. Silva is famously known for playing the role of Carlos Reyes in the series, ‘9-1-1: Lone Star.’ He is also one-half of the fan favorite onscreen couple, “Tarlos,” with the other half being T.K. Strand, who is portrayed by Ronen Rubinstein.
Rafael was born on June 18, 1994 in Belo Horizonte, Brazil. Growing up, he wanted to work with farm animals like his grandfather and uncles. At the age of 13, his family moved to the US, and the customs shock resulted in him becoming introverted and fearful of speaking in public.
He started to pursue acting when he was in high school to overcome his fear of widespread speaking.
“I started acting when I was a junior in high school. I used to be very afraid to speak in public. I figured if you were going to be afraid of something, you might as good be in the eye of the hurricane. So I started acting because I was afraid of speaking in public…,” the 28-year-old Brazilian-American actor mutual in an interview with Styles Rant.

On May 16, the 2-hour season 4 finale of 9-1-1: Lone Star will air on Fox and it will involve the wedding of TK (Ronen Rubinstein) and Carlos (Rafael L. Silva), who has been affectionately referred to as “Tarlos”. Of course, it wouldn’t be 9-1-1 wedding without some drama.
When asked about what to await from the season finale, Reubinstein told GLAAD’s Anthony Allen Ramos in a recent interview that the wedding will see “a bump to say the least.”
Silva says, “The writers room make you earn the wedding up until the very last moment and I believe what they have done…” Silva tries to locate words without spoiling the season. “I will break your heart but it’s also an invitation for you to pack it up more with love. There are gonna be some bumps for Tarlos but I hold faith it’s gonna be a beautiful wedding.”
