I recently wandered up to one of my favorite haunts in New England - Salem, Massachusetts - even though October is generally not a hour I would go to Salem as normally it's THE big month for the Witch City and you can't find a hotel for less than an arm and a leg no matter what time of the month it is. This year, though, things are a lot different due to the ongoing Covid pandemic as the city's annual Haunted Happenings has been canceled and everything else is scaled back. With all that, I figured it was actually the perfect time for me to head up and learn more about a subject that has interested me since 7th grade - the Salem Witch Trials - without the usual big crowds.

Turns out it was a most excellent time to proceed as I was qualified to score an astonishing deal on for a two-night midweek stay at the brand-new, recently-opened Hampton Inn located on Dodge Street in downtown Salem.

The hotel is within straightforward walking distance of cute much anything you're going to want to see/do in Salem so valet park the car ($18 a night) and love being in a convenient location while you also enjoy the other amenities that the hotel applications like an indoor pool and fitness center - p

    Hello,

My partner and I are considering a move to Salem next year. I've tried ruling information on gay-friendly neighborhoods with no luck. Can anyone recommend some neighborhoods in Salem where we should look? Also, I love mid-century modern abode so any neighborhoods built during the 50s or 60s would also be wonderful.

Finally, any perception into how gay-friendly some outlying areas may be, specifically Silverton, OR? I've heard Oregon is attractive liberal in general, but I'm not sure if that applies to smaller towns.

    I appreciate your responses!

Oregon doesn't ghettoize so much. If you are looking for gay bars, you are going to have a tough age.

There are some pretty vocal gay activists in the forum section of the Salem Statesman-Journal web site. You might ask them what animation in Salem is enjoy. My impression is that there isn't much going on in Salem, but maybe I'm just not payin
